Salary Cap
Should there be a salary cap in baseball? That has been a topic for many years now to try and balance out the competitive balance in the MLB. Every other pro team has one why not baseball it would make a lot of sense to do so. In MLB you have teams with payrolls of 100 plus million dollars and teams with payrolls of less 30 million dollars, its not fair to the smaller market teams because they can not get the best players during free agency like the big market teams can which tends to lead that the bigger market team will have a better season than the smaller market team. A-Rods salary for this year alone 22.7 million http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/8023 is almost as much as the entire payroll of the Tampa Bay D-Rays 24.1 million http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/salaries. With a salary cap there would be a more balance the payrolls of the teams. But there are some teams that did or will make the playoffs with smaller payrolls like the Indians with a payroll of 61.7 million http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/salaries and they have the second best record in the AL. That is one of the few cases that smaller market teams can make the playoffs but it is few and far between so there should be a salary cap in baseball to fix the competitive balance in the MLB.

Sports and Cheating
By now everybody knows that New England got caught video taping the Jets signs. The person was taken out of the stadium and the film was taken by the league. Mr. Goodell fined them 750,000 dollars and if they make the playoffs, which they will, they will take their first round draft pick away. Everything I've read or watched has said that is horrible and how long have they been doing this. I think that everybody in every sport cheats in some way. In baseball players accuse other players of stealing signs all the time. I have stole signs before when I played baseball in high school it didn't help us we still could not hit the pitcher but we knew what was coming when we were in the batters box. I don't think it as big of a deal that everybody has made it out to be. I mean if you think that somebody is stealing your signs than change them to something different or similar signs so that the other team will not know your signs. I'm saying its OK to steal signs I'm just saying that it is not that big of a deal when all you have to do to fix the problem is change your signs or the color of the card that it is on. Plus its not going to help New England that week any way and by the time that they meet again the Jets most likely changed their signs any way which means that New England did all that work and it would not help them any way. I understand that the league had to do something because it just doesn't look good with the public when a team gets caught cheating. In the end its not that big of a deal if teams cheat just don't let people catch you doing the cheating.

Sports and the Law
You don't have to look far to see what these have in common, which they shouldn't be. In the newspapers, TV shows and on the interent you see weekly or sometimes daily that pro althtes get in trouble with the law enough is enough. I understand that everyone makes mistakes that over time most people might have a run-in with the law like a speeding ticket. The ones that really bother me are the ones that have had multiple run-ins like Pacman Jones and Chris Henry. Pacman has been arrested or questioned 14 times since joining the league and was suspend the entire 2007 season by Roger Goodell, which I think is what he deseves for his actions that he commented. Pacman defence is that he had never be covicted on any of the charges that he faced. Yea there right, but still that is 14 to many run-ins be aloud to play in the NFL which is a previlege not a right. In my thinking after two issuses I would start to change the group of people I hang out with to prevent these issues in the future. It's not just pro sports but also college sports as well. I saw on SportsCenter that the backup QB at UNH was suspend indef because he was question on a murder case where he was there when a group he was with beat up this surfer that died a few days later. In the end what are they thinking if you have to think weather it is a good idea or not then you should not do what ever it is which would not cause all the run-ins.

Who likes to write any way.
Writing I really never liked writing that much to begin with I mean I don't mind it just don't like to write. I hate the really long 8 to 10 page papers that you supposed to write when given a topic that you don't really like or doesn't move you like in my case school dress code. It doesn't move because it didn't effect at all so I would not get the passion I would if the topic was different. Say the topic was on sports that is completely different story I would feel more moved by that. On the other hand I don't mind the little 2 to 4 page papers.
